- Permanent, Full time (40 hours per week)
- Working hours are Monday - Friday between the hours of 8.00am and 5.30pm
- Location: We are currently based in Otahuhu, Auckland (office based)

Ngā Mahi | The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll join a supportive finance team of five, working across five entities within Ember. This is our second Accountant position, offering variety, responsibility and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to financial integrity and decision‑making.
You’ll be trusted to manage core accounting functions, provide insightful analysis, and collaborate closely with colleagues to strengthen systems and processes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning assigned month‑end and year‑end accounting processes
- Preparing journals, balance sheet reconciliations and draft financial reports
- Providing clear analysis and recommendations to support decision‑making
- Maintaining the general ledger and fixed assets register
- Assisting with budgets, audits, service performance reporting and compliance
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems and workflows
What We’re Looking For | Ngā Pukenga
- Tertiary level degree or diploma in accounting (required)
- CA qualified (or working towards this), or an equivalent professional accounting qualification (eg. CPA Australia, ACCA) would be advantageous
- At least three years’ relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of NZ accounting standards, compliance and reporting
- Experience with accounting software and Excel (Xero experience an advantage)
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to financial accuracy
- Confidence working independently while collaborating effectively
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- A full NZ driver licence and valid NZ work rights
